Bishop's Tachbrook Pre-School is housed in a classroom at the school.

We accept children from the age of 2 years and 9 months. 

At Bishops Tachbrook Pre-School, we are committed to providing a nurturing, child-centred environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired. Our practice is built around high-quality interactions that help children develop confidence, curiosity and strong relationships. By taking the time to listen, respond and engage meaningfully, our team creates a space where children feel safe to explore, experiment and express themselves.

We believe that outdoor learning is one of the richest learning environments a child can experience. We have a free flow environment which allows children to move freely between indoor and outdoor areas. This approach supports independence, decision-making and self-regulation. By giving children the freedom to follow the instincts and explore at their own pace, we create a learning experience that is joyful, meaningful and deeply engaging.

We use in the moment planning to respond instantly to children's ideas, questions, and discoveries. Instead of relaying on old rigid themes, our practitioners observe closely and extend learning right as it happens, offering resources, challenges, or conversations that enrich each child's experience. This ensures learning is personalised, relevant and rooted in what truly excites and motivates a child, greatly increasing their confidence when they move into school.

Our close links with the school and the "Open Door" sessions help nursery-age children prepare for school and get to know the staff.

Our day now runs from 8.30 am -3.30 pm. Come and see us in action!

We are officially a 'GOOD' Pre-School. (OFSTED 2024)

'Activities are exciting and engaging. Animated, enthusiastic staff support children well and they make good progress. The manager and staff provide good quality care and learning for children. Children behave very well and understand the importance of sharing toys. Children enjoy lots of physical activity and independently move between the indoor and outdoor play areas.'

Please note:

Our popular Pre-School is sometimes over-subscribed, particularly towards the Summer term. Although we may have some sessions to offer families whose children are shortly joining Bishop's Tachbrook CE Primary School, the best way to settle children in is for them to join us in good time and not to rely on being able to secure full-day sessions at short notice for only the last part of the year.
