Mrs Blackburn

Mrs Blackburn's portrait is drawn by Imogen in the style of Julian Opie. (You can find out more about the artist at the bottom of this page.)

Mrs Blackburn is a Year 4 teaching assistant and also leads Thrive across school with Mrs Pepin. We asked her some questions to find out more about her:

If you could be a character from a book, who would you be and why?

I would be Hermione Granger from Harry Potter because, like Hermione, I am also a muggle who is intrigued by the magical, mystical and mythical world of witchcraft and wizardry.

What was your favourite subject when you were at school?

My favourite subject now and at school was history because I love to learn about how we all lived in the past and the things that happened.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and what would you use it for?

Time travel, so I could go back in time to meet my ancestors and go into the future to see what life will be like.

Julian Opie

Julian Opie is a leading contemporary artist. Opie's distinctive graphic style exists in the form of billboard posters, album covers and LED screens. The artist approaches the work by reducing the features that distinguish individuals from each other to the bare minimum. With just a few lines he is able to characterise what makes us unique and recognisable.
